No Drugs Down the Drain! Campaign
The next drive is April 21, 2018 from 10 am – 4 pm
The No Drugs Down the Drain program is a public outreach program to alert California residents living in specific regions about the problems associated with flushing unused, unwanted, and expired medications down the toilet or drain and to provide them with
other, safe and proper disposal choices.
NoDrugsDowntheDrain.org advises communities on how they can offer a safe, easy and free method to properly dispose of these hazards to our water supply and marine life.
Twice yearly, Soroptimist International of Calistoga partners with the Calistoga Police Department and St. Helena Hospital, to offer curbside drop-off of all unwanted and expired medications, as well as pet medications and syringes (“sharps”).
The last drive in October 2017 collected over 240 pounds of medications and sharps.
Thanksgiving Lunch for seniors living in Calistoga
Each year, Soroptimist International of Calistoga provides a Thanksgiving Lunch to Calistoga seniors. We do this with help of the Calistoga Schools Food Service. The S Club girls help to serve.
The Soroptimist International of Calistoga participate in Calistoga’s parades, July 4th and the December Tractor Parade. This year our tractor float took third place! It is a fun way to connect with the community and raise awareness or our club.
