Giving Hope: Soroptimists Support NEWS and Local Children in Need
Update from Tracy Lamb, Executive Director of NEWS at Calistoga Soroptimist Club’s September Meeting.
We received an exciting update today from Tracy Lamb, Executive Director of NEWS, at the Calistoga Soroptimist Club's September Program Meeting held at La Prima. The meeting focused on the incredible strides NEWS is making in the community, including new programs in local schools and a recently launched Summer Camp designed for children from challenging home situations.
Tracy shared how generous local support has been instrumental in continuing these vital programs, especially as federal grants have seen reductions.
During the meeting, SIC Treasurer Karan Schlegel presented a check to Tracy, with plans to further support NEWS in the coming year. Tracy will be sending a list of the Safe House's needs, and in response, the Soroptimists will be organizing a "Gift Shower" early next year to ensure these needs are met.
Stay tuned for more updates on how you can help support these crucial services in our community!
